  • p3tog – purl three together
  • st(s) – stitch(es)
  • sel s – selvage stitch: always slip the first stitch knitwise, work to the last stitch, purl the last stitch

Stretchy knot knit stitch instructions:

Cast on a multiple of 2 sts, plus 1 extra stitch and plus 2 selvage stitches.

Row 0: sel, s, [k1, p1] – repeat, k1, sel s

Row 1: sel s, [ p1, k1] – repeat, p1, sel s.

Row 2: sel, s, [k1, p1] – repeat, k1, sel s

Row 3: sel s, [ p1, k1] – repeat, p1, sel s.

Row 4: sel, s, [k1, p1] – repeat, k1, sel s

Row 5: sel s, [p1, knit next stitch through the front loop firstly, then through the back loop and again through the front loop, after that drop stitch off the needle] – repeat, p1, sel s.

Row 6: sel s, [k1, p3tog] – repeat, k1, sel s.

Repeat Rows 1-6 to form the pattern.
