Adorable Knitted 'Belle' Finger Puppet — Simple DK Yarn Pattern & Steps
The Knitted Belle Finger Puppet is a charming, compact project that's great for storytelling, small puppet shows, or a quick handmade gift. This pattern uses an eyelash (tinsel) yarn for a sparkly trim and DK yarn for the body and dress; it works well for knitters familiar with basic techniques such as stocking stitch and knitting two together.

Materials:
- Oddments of DK yarn (main and dress color)
- Tinsel or eyelash yarn for the trim
- 3.75 mm needles
- Yarn needle for sewing and finishing
Pattern
- Cast on 28 stitches in tinsel (eyelash) yarn.
- Knit 2 rows in garter stitch.
- Next row: knit 2 together (k2tog) across the row — 14 stitches remain.
- Change to DK yarn.
- Work 14 rows in stocking stitch (1 row knit, 1 row purl).
- Change to pink (or chosen dress color).
- Work 8 rows in stocking stitch (1 row knit, 1 row purl).
- Next row: k2tog across the row. Cut yarn leaving a small tail, thread tail through remaining stitches, pull tight and secure.
Finishing
- Sew the seam along the back to form the puppet tube.
- Sew the face with small stitches to create facial features.
- Add a few strands of yarn for hair and secure them with small stitches.
- Define arms by taking small stitches through the body starting near the neck and stitching down a couple of stitches toward the back to create a stitched-in arm effect.
- Weave in all ends and trim any excess yarn or hair to shape.
Tips: Use a contrasting trim yarn for a sparkly neckline. Work gently when pulling the final tail through the remaining stitches to avoid tightening the opening too much — you want enough room for a finger. Adjust the number of rows if you prefer a taller or shorter puppet.
