Below are the materials and step-by-step instructions to knit and finish the bag.

Materials

• About 30 grams of DK yarn
• Oddments of fancy yarn
• 4 mm needles
• Roll-on deodorant (optional)

Instructions

1. Cast on 30 stitches.
2. Knit 3 rows in the fancy yarn.
3. Change to the DK yarn and continue.
4. Work the following 4-row pattern and repeat it 10 times total:
   • Row 1: knit
   • Row 2: knit
   • Row 3: k2, p2 repeat to end
   • Row 4: k2, p2 repeat to end
5. After completing the 10 repeats of the 4-row pattern, cast off.
6. Join the side and bottom seams to form the bag.
7. Using two strands of yarn held together, thread through the top about 4 rows down from the cast-on edge. Cut the yarn and tie a bow to create a drawstring closure.

Optional: the original materials list included a roll-on deodorant. Keep it on hand if the designer's kit called for it.

Notes: To change the bag size, adjust the cast-on stitch count or work more or fewer repeats of the 4-row pattern. Finish by weaving in any loose ends and securing the drawstring knot.
