Materials:

  • Plymouth Yarn Sockotta fingering weight yarn (45% cotton, 40% wool, 15% nylon), 414 yd / 379 m 100 g color 08 - about 1/4 of a ball
  • Notions: yarn needle, 5 stitch markers, 2 pieces of waste yarn, crochet hook 2.75-3 mm
  • Needles: Circular US #2 (2.75 mm) and dpn US #2 (2.75 mm) OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE

Gauge: 20 sts = 4" (10 cm)

Abbreviations:

  • dpn – double pointed needles
  • K – knit
  • P – purl
  • St, sts – stitch, stitches
  • pu&k - pick up and knit
  • co – cast on
  • kfr&b - knit front and back
  • yo - yarn over
  • sm - slip marker

Pattern Notes:

Stockinette stitch in rounds: all rounds knit.

Garter stitch in rounds:

Round 1 - knit

Round 2 - purl

Repeat rounds 1-2.

2x2 Rib in rounds: *k2, p2; repeat from * across the round.

Raglan increases: Increase for raglan by yarn over (yo) on each side of the indicated, marked, stitch in every other round: yo, sm (slip marker), k1 (raglan st), yo. The number of sts increases by 8 each increase round.

Directions:

The dress is worked from top down in rounds without seams.

Cast on 48 sts, join and continue to work in rounds. Place a marker at the beginning of the round. The beginning of the round will be in the middle of the back.

Round 1: knit.

Round 2 (eyelet round): *k2tog, yo - repeat from * across the round.

Rounds 3-4: knit.

Check sts and place markers on raglan lines as follows:

7 sts (right back) - 1 st (first raglan line, place marker before this st) - 8 sts (right sleeve) - 1 st (second raglan line, place marker before this st) - 14 sts (front) - 1 st (third raglan line, place marker before this st) - 8 sts (left sleeve) - 1 st (fourth raglan line, place marker before this st) - 7 sts (left back).

Rounds 5, 7 and 9: slip the beg. marker, *knit till the raglan marker, yo, sm, k1, yo - repeat from * 4 times, knit the remaining sts till the end of the round. (+8 sts)

Rounds 6, 8, 10: knit across.

After round 5 the number of sts = 56 sts.

After round 7 = 64 sts.

After round 9 = 72 sts.

Divide for sleeves and bodice:

Round 11: k11, transfer 14 sts of the right sleeve to a piece of waste yarn, co 2 sts for the underarm, k22 sts of the front, transfer 14 sts of the left sleeve on another piece of waste yarn, co 2 sts for underarm, k11. = 48 sts.

Rounds 12 and 13: knit.

Round 14: *k2, p2; repeat from * across the round.

Repeat round 14 five more times.

Round 20 (increase round): *kfr&b, k1 - repeat from * across the round. = 72 sts.

Rounds 21 - 42: knit.

Round 43: purl.

Round 44: knit.

Repeat rounds 43 and 44 three more times.

Bind off.

Sleeve:

Transfer 14 sts to dpn, pu&k 2 sts over the 2 underarm sts. = 16 sts.

Round 1: knit.

Round 2: purl.

Repeat rounds 1-2 two more times.

Bind off.

Finishing:

Weave in all yarn ends. Crochet a chain 10"-12" long. Insert it in the eyelets along the neckline to form the drawstring.
