I've been asked by a granddaughter to knit a blanket with scallops on all four sides. She's having a baby in August, so I'd like to get started soon!

This is a question rather than a comment. Do I knit a length of scallop then go into the main part of the blanket, When I get to the top, do I do scallop with fresh wool and then attach it to the blanket. Should I then do a length which is the length of the side of the blanket and attach that, and finally I would need to complete the four side.
