  • Left over Dk yarn in 2 colours
  • Size 4 mm needles
  • Button


Cover

Cast on 20 stitches

Knit 3 rows

Next row (button hole row) knit 9, yarn forward, knit 2 together, knit to end


Next rows

Row 1: k1, p1 repeat to end

Row 2: k1, p1 repeat to end

Continue with pattern rows


Pattern rows

Row 1: knit

Row 2; knit

Row 3: k1, p1 repeat to end

Row 4: k1, p1 repeat to end

Repeat the 4 rows 18 times ending with rows 3 and 4

Knit 4 rows

Cast off

Weave in loose ends


Inside

Cast on 16 stitches in contrast

Knit every row for 12.5 cm

Cast off


To make up

Fold case to find centre of the inside, use the contrast yarn double and leave a length of yarn. Start on fold on outer layer, stitch through both layers and bring needle through to inside, take needle out again. Cut yarn leaving a length so that it can be joined and knotted with the other bit. Tie knots in bath ends

Add button to the inside of outer case.
