DIY Knitted Bath Puff (Bonbon) — Easy One-Skein Pattern
Make a soft, exfoliating knitted bath puff (sometimes called a "bonbon") to add a touch of handmade charm to your bath routine. This quick one-size pattern uses a single skein of nylon yarn and simple stockinette stitching to produce a puffy, scrubby accessory that’s easy to finish and secure with a tight cord knot.

Finished size: approx. 6" around. One size.
Materials
- Gedifra Clou [100% Nylon; 49 yds/45 m per 50g skein]; color: Sun Festival; 1 skein
- 1 yd nylon cord in coordinating color
- 1 set US#15/10mm straight needles
- 1 large yarn needle
Gauge
9 sts/13 rows = 4" in stockinette stitch
Directions
Using a long-tail cast-on and leaving a tail of about 2 yds, cast on 30 sts.
Work even in stockinette (St st) until approximately 1 yd of yarn remains.
Bind off all sts.
Finishing
Turn the bound-off rectangle into a tube by rolling the bound-off edge to meet the cast-on edge and stitch these edges together using the cast-on tail. Secure with two tight knots and trim any excess.
With the tube lengthwise and the seam facing you, gather the two ends into the center, scrunching into a puff shape with a tight "waist".
Use the nylon cord around the waist and tie a constrictor knot to hold the gather very tightly; this knot grips itself so it will not work loose. Follow the constrictor knot with two or three regular overhand knots to seal it.
If desired, form a hanging loop from one cord end and tie it down — the pattern author used a double-tied bow. Trim cord ends and, if using nylon cord, lightly singe the ends with a match to prevent fraying.
Note: Tight knots are important because the bonbon will be subjected to scrubbing action during use.
Constrictor Knot (see GIF)
The constrictor knot is simple to tie and grips itself so it will not work loose, allowing you to tighten the bonbon as much as possible for maximum puff. Follow the animated GIF below for the knot-tying sequence.
