Clara's Reversible Cotton Scarf Knitting Pattern — Easy Eyelet Design

Clara's Cotton Scarf is a simple, reversible knit that uses a pretty eyelet stripe to add texture and charm. Worked in cotton on 5mm needles, it's a cozy everyday accessory that stays soft against the skin. The pattern is suitable for confident beginners who can work basic decreases and yarn-overs.

Clara's Reversible Cotton Scarf Knitting Pattern — Easy Eyelet Design

Materials: 5mm (US 8) needles and cotton yarn (I worked until I had almost used 2 x 50g balls).

Gauge and sizing will vary with yarn choice; cast on until you reach the desired scarf width — the sample below uses 25 sts.

Using 5mm needles, cast on 25sts (or any odd number of sts).

1st Row: S1, knit to end of the row.

Repeat this row 4 times more.

6th Row (Eyelet Row): s1, k1, *k2tog, yrn, repeat from * to last 3sts, k3.

Work 1st Row 6 times.

Pattern Repeat —

** Work eyelet row

Work 1st Row 6 times **

Repeat these 7 rows until the scarf is the length required.

Finish by casting off on the last row of a pattern repeat.

Please note: As you follow the instructions you will find that the eyelet pattern is worked on alternate right & wrong sides — this makes the scarf reversible.
