How To

Using Alternate Cable cast-on for 2×2 rib, cast on 72 [80, 84] sts

Join in the round, being careful not to twist sts.

Place st marker to indicate start of round.

Brim

Now work for the brim by knitting 2×2 rib (K2, P2) every round for 2 in/5 cm (or desired length)

Body

Change to stocking stitch and knit every round until work measures 6 [6.5, 7] in/15 [16.5, 18] cm from cast-on edge.

22in size only: *K38, K2tog; rpt from * to end [78 sts]

Crown

Small size jump to Rnd 3, Medium size jump to Rnd 2, Large size start at Rnd 1.

Rnd 1: *K12, K2tog; rpt from * to end [78 sts]

Rnd 2: *K11, K2tog; rpt from * to end [72 sts]

Rnd 3: *K10, K2tog; rpt from * to end [66 sts]

Rnd 4: *K9, K2tog; rpt from * to end [60 sts]

Rnd 5: *K8, K2tog; rpt from * to end [54 sts]

Rnd 6: *K7, K2tog; rpt from * to end [48 sts]
