Free Knitting Pattern

Materials: 4mm needles and 100% cotton DK weight yarn.

Cast on 40 stitches in red yarn.

Knit the first two rows.

Change to black yarn.

Then knit in pattern as follows:

K2, (K2 P2) x 9, K2

K2, (K2 P2) x 9, K2

K2, (P2 K2) x 9, K2

K2, (P2 K2) x 9, K2

Change back to red yarn.

Continue in pattern until length measures about an inch less than the width.

Change to white yarn.

Continue in pattern until your dishcloth is roughly square.

Knit the last two rows.

Cast off in knit.

Sew in the ends.

How to Assemble Your Knitted Dishcloth Britches

Fold each dishcloth in half lengthwise and place them side by side so that the folded edges meet. Weave a length of yarn through the top of both pieces and tie a bow in the centre. Weave another length of yarn around the bottom of each “leg” and tie. Use a little leftover yarn to attach the two cloths together in the middle with a small bow.
