How to Knit a Sweet Garter Stitch Baby Blanket — Easy Triangle Pattern & Crochet Finish

This garter stitch baby blanket is a cozy, timeless project that's perfect for gifting or for your own nursery. Built from four identical knitted triangles joined together, it uses simple increases and finishes with a small crochet flower at the centre and a two-row treble crochet border for a neat edge.

Materials: 4mm needles and DK-weight yarn (as used in the pattern below). Make four identical triangles, join them together, then add the crochet flower and border to finish.

Pattern

Make four triangles the same. For each triangle -

Using 4mm needles, and any DK yarn, make a slip knot for the first stitch

1st Row: Knit into the front and back of the first stitch (2 sts)

2nd Row: Knit into the front and back of the first stitch, k1 (3 sts)

3rd Row: Knit into the front and back of the first stitch, k2 (4 sts)

4th Row: Knit into the front and back of the first stitch, k3 (5 sts)

Continue in this manner, increasing one stitch on the first stitch of every row, until the triangle reaches the required length.

Join the four triangles.

Finishing: I added a cute little crochet flower to the centre and made a crochet border using two rows of treble crochet to finish it off.
