Knitting materials and tools:
- DPN 4 mm (US6/UK8).
- Super Corfou – 100% Acrylic, Color # 45, 40 grams – 95 meters.
Common abbreviations of knit stitches:
- k – knit
- p – purl
- st(s) – stitch(es)
- yo – yarn over
- k2tog – knit two together.
- sel s – selvage stitch: always slip the first stitch purlwise, work to the last stitch, purl the last stitch.
- M3 (make three) – insert the needle as if to knit, wrap the yarn around and make a knit stitch without dropping stitch of the left needle, yo, then again inset the needle as if to knit, wrap the yarn around and make a knit stitch drop the stitch of the needle.
- skpo – Slip, Knit, Pass Over: Slip one stitch to the right needle knitwise, knit in the next stitch and drop this stitch off the left needle, insert the left needle into the slipped stitch, pass it over the knit stitch and it’s done.
Knit torch stitch instructions:
Cast on a multiple of 4 sts plus 3 extra sts and plus 2 selvage stitches.
Row1 (RS): sel s, *p3, k1– repeat from *, p3, sel s.
Row 2: sel s, k3, *p1, k3, repeat from *, sel s.
Row 3 (RS): sel s, *p3, M3– repeat from *, p3, sel s.
Row 4: sel s, k3, *p3, k3, repeat from *, sel s.
Row 5 (RS): sel s, p1, *p1, k2tog, k1, scpo – repeat from *, p2, sel s.
Row 6: sel s, k2, *p3, k1, repeat from *, k1, sel s.
Repeat Rows 1-6 as many times as needed.
