- Cable 3 Back (C3B): Slip 3 knit stitches to the extra needle and hold in back of work, p1, k1, p1 from the left-hand needle, p1, k1, p1 from the extra needle.
- Cable 3 Front (C3F): Slip 3 knit stitches to the extra needle and hold in front of work, p1, k1, p1 from the left-hand needle, p1, k1, p1 from the extra needle.

Row 3 (RS): repeat Row 1.
Row 4: repeat Row 2.
Row 5 (RS): repeat Row 1.
Row 6: repeat Row 2.
Row 7 (RS): sel s, *C3B – repeat from *, sel s.
Row 8: sel s, *k1, p1, k2, p1, k1 – repeat from *, sel s.
Row 9 (RS): sel s, *p1, k1, p2, k1, p1– repeat from *, sel s.
Row 10: repeat Row 8.
Row 11 (RS): repeat Row 9.
