Knitting materials and tools:

  • Circular needles 5.5 mm (US 9/UK5).
  • Lanoso Bebe Masal (4) –100% acrylic, 170 meter per 100 grams skein. Color of your choice. In total 1.5 skein.

Candy bud lace knit scarf size:

  • Length: 120 cm (47 in)
  • Width: 15 cm (6 in)
  • Gauge: 18 sts – 4 inches (10 cm)

Common abbreviations of knitting stitches:

  • k – knit
  • p – purl
  • sel s – selvage stitch: always slip the first stitch purlwise, work to the last stitch, purl the last stitch
  • st(s) – stitch(es)
  • bR1 – bud right: skip next 3 stitches and find a “road” of knit stitches, count down 4 stitches starting from the stitch on the needle. Insert the needle into the 4th st, pull the yarn and place it on the left-hand needle (you are going to have a long loop), knit together loop and next stitch.
  • bR2 and bR3 – work same and pull the yarn through the same stitch as you did for bR1 (the loop will be even longer this time)

  • bL1 – bud left: count back 2 stitches (on the right hand needle) and find a “road” of knit stitches, count down 5 stitches starting from the stitch on the needle. Insert the needle into the 5th st, pull the yarn and place it on the left-hand needle (you are going to have a long loop), knit together loop and next stitch.
  • bL2 and bL3 – work same and pull the yarn through the same stitch as you did for bL1 (the loop will be even longer this time)

Сast on 28 stitches or any other number that is divisible by 6 and add 4 stitches.

28 – 4 = 24 = 6 * 4

Row 1: sel s, [p2, k1] – repeat 8 times, p2, sel, s.

Row 2: sel s, [ k2, p1] – repeat 8 times, k2, sel s.

Rows 3-4: Repeat Rows 1 and 2.

Row 5: sel s, [p2, bR1, p2, k1] – repeat 4 times, p2, sel s.

Row 6: sel s, [ k2, p1] – repeat 8 times, k2, sel s.

Row 7: sel s, [p2, bR2, p2, k1] – repeat 4 times, p2, sel s.

Row 8: sel s, [ k2, p1] – repeat 8 times, k2, sel s.

Row 9: sel s, [p2, bR3, p2, k1] – repeat 4 times, p2, sel s.
