Knitted Garter Stitch Baby Blanket

Oh, the knitted garter stitch baby blanket is just the sweetest creation! It's a cozy, timeless piece that wraps little ones in warmth and love. The simple yet beautiful garter stitch pattern gives it a classic look that's perfect for cuddling babies. Whether you're gifting it to a new parent or making it for your own bundle of joy, this blanket is sure to become a treasured keepsake. The soft yarn and soothing repetitive knit-purl pattern make it a joy to work on, creating a lovely and practical accessory for any nursery. It's a truly heartwarming project that will bring comfort and joy to both the maker and the lucky recipient.

Pattern

Make four triangles the same. For each triangle -

Using 4mm needles, and any DK yarn, make a slip knot for the first stitch

1st Row: Knit into the front and back of the first stitch (2sts)

2nd Row: Knit into the front and back of the first st, k1 (3sts)

3rd Row: Knit into the front and back of the first st, k2 (4sts)

4th Row: Knit into the front and back of the first st, k3 (5sts)

Continue in this manner, increasing one stitch on the first stitch of every row, until the length required.

Join the four triangles.

I added a cute little crochet flower to the centre, and made a crochet border using two rows of treble crochet to finish it off.
