Repeat these 18 rows until the scarf measures approximately 60 inches. Bind off after an 18th row.
Make and attach 3 tassels, evenly spaced, at the bottom ends of the scarf.
How to make the tassels:
Prepare Your Base
Choose an object like a piece of cardboard, book, or anything sturdy to wrap the yarn around. The height of the base will determine the tassel’s length. The book I used measured 7 inches wide.
Wrap the Yarn
Hold the end of the yarn against the base and start wrapping it around evenly.
Wrap it 30 times.
Tie the Top
Cut a piece of yarn about 6–8 inches long.
Slide it under the loops at one end and tie it tightly to secure the wrapped yarn. This will be the top of the tassel.
Cut the Loops
Slide the wrapped yarn off the base carefully.
Use scissors to cut the loops on the opposite end of the tie.
Shape the Tassel
To create the “neck” of the tassel, wrap another piece of yarn around the bundle, about 1 inch below the top.
Wrap it a few times and tie it securely, then trim or tuck in the ends.
Trim the Ends
Trim the bottom of the tassel to make it even.
