Knitted Simple Torc

You will need:

  • yarn (sock wool or 4ply)
  • toy stuffing
  • poking device
  • 4 x double ended knitting needles (2mm)
  • tapestry needle
  • scissors


Pattern:

Cast on 2 stitches and work 6cm i-cord. Do not cast off, row 1 is worked on the two stitches at the end of the i-cord.

Round 1: kfbf x 2 (6)

Separate these 6 stitches onto three needles and work in the round as follows.

Poke a little stuffing into the tube.

k to last st, kfb (8)

Add stuffing

Repeat this first set of bullet points eight more times (24).

Check that the body of the torc is completely stuffed before working the next set of instructions.

Stuff firmly. Cut the yarn, thread through remaining stitches and pull tight.

Making Up:

Sew the i-cord into a loop. Make sure the ends are fixed securely because this loop is going to be stretched and pulled whenever torc is fastened. Hide the remaining loose ends inside the body of the necklace.

The fastening works by passing the ball at one end through the loop at the other.
