Teen/Adult: 60” (152.5 cm) wingspan x 28” (71 cm) spine.

Materials

  • King Cole Explorer Super Chunky yarn (available from LoveCrafts | Wool Warehouse UK) (80% acrylic/20% wool, 3.5 oz/100 g/87 yd/80 m) – 5 skeins in 4297 Livingstone, or approximately 400 yd (366 m) in any super bulky weight yarn.
  • US Size 15/10 mm circular knitting needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.
  • Clover Quick Locking Stitch Markers.
  • Yarn needle.

Gauge

10 sts = 4” (10 cm) in stockinette stitch. Exact gauge is not critical for this project.

Rows 8-9: Repeat Row 6 twice.

Rows 10-41: Repeat Rows 6-9, 8 more times. Do not fasten off.

Second Section

Row 42: (RS) K2, yo, k to last 2 sts, yo, k2. (Increases by 2 sts to an odd number of sts)

Row 43: K2, p to last 2 sts, k2.

Rows 44-49: Repeat Rows 42-43, 3 more times.
