Knitted Father’s Day Bow Tie

Materials:
• Needles: US 3 / 3.25 mm
• 20 gr Baby Alpaka
• Tapestry needle
• Small Button about 1/2” / 1.2 cm diameter

Bow:
CO 16 sts Row 1 (RS): (K1, sl1wyif) repeat to last 2sts, k2 Row 2 (WS): (p1, sl1wyib) repeat to last 2 sts, p2 Repeat last 2 rows until piece measures 23.5 cm / 9.25 in BO using crochet cast off. Seam cast- off edge to cast- on edge and set aside.

Knot:
CO 12sts Row 1 (RS): (K1, sl1wyif) repeat to last 2sts, k2 Row 2 (WS): (p1, sl1wyib) repeat to last 2 sts, p2 Repeat Row 1 and Row 2 until piece measures 6 cm in length. Holding RS together, stitch together in a loop, turn right side out and sew on the button to center of the seam.

Strap:
Pick up 6 sts from the side of the back of the knot where the seam comes together. Row 1 (RS): (K1, sl1wyif) repeat to last 2sts, k2 Row 2 (WS): (p1, sl1wyib) repeat to last 2 sts, p2 Repeat Row 1 and Row 2 until the strap measures the desired neck circumference. Mak buttonhole as follows: Buttonhole Row (RS): (K1, sl1wyif, k2tog, yo, k2 Repeat Row 2 once and then repeat Row 1 and Row 2 twice more. BO all stitches. Note: To make an adjustable bow tie, work another repeat from buttonhole row to BO. If you are using alpaca as I did, remember that alpaca will grow! Make your buttonholes a bit earlier to account for a bit of growth.

Nota: per realizzare un papillon regolabile, fai un altro ferro per creare un’asola e all’inizio della cinghia cuci il bottone.
