Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver in Black and Bright Yellow

Needles: US size 1 double pointed needles 

Body and Head

CO 6 sts, 2 on each needle (2 2 2) in yellow
Inc1 in all; 12 sts (4 4 4)
Inc1, K1, repeat around; 18 sts (6 6 6)
Knit 2 rounds in black.
Knit 2 rounds in yellow.
Knit 2 rounds in black.
Knit 1 round in yellow.
With yellow: K2tog, K1, repeat around; 12 sts (4 4 4)
Knit 1 round in black.
Stuff body.
With black: K2tog all; 6 sts (2 2 2)
Break black yarn and tuck end of yarn inside piece.
Knit 1 round in yellow.
Inc1 in all; 12 sts (4 4 4)
Knit 3 rounds.
K2tog all; 6 sts (2 2 2)

Stuff head. Break yarn and sew through remaining sts.

Finishing

With black yarn, embroider on small eyes and a smiling mouth. Sew the black yarn up through the head at one antenna point, then twist the yarn tightly so it curls back on itself. Sew back down through the yarn at the base of the antenna, then back out through the next antenna point. Repeat for second antenna, sewing the yarn through the body and cutting it at the back end, burying the tail in the body.
